Every October, landmarks across the world shine pink and blue in honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, remembering the babies gone too soon through miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal, and infant loss. This month carries a dual meaning: while blue and pink represent pregnancy and infant loss, pink is also a symbol of hope during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Together, these colors remind us of the strength of families, the power of community, and the importance of honoring those we love and miss.
Why Landmarks Light Up Pink & Blue
Since 1988, October has been recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Each year, buildings, bridges, and landmarks are illuminated in pink and blue on October 15th for Honoring Out Loud remembrance event for all babies gone too soon.
Where Landmarks Light Up in October
Lighting landmarks helps break the silence around miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss, while raising awareness and support for grieving families.
Across the U.S. and beyond, communities will light up to honor the babies gone too soon.
